Abstract
Land ecological security evaluation is not only the core and foundation of land resources’ sustainable utilization, but also the key reference of land planning, management and protection of decision-making. Research on land ecological security evaluation has become a hot field in the land ecological security problems since the late 1990s. A review was performed of existing progress on land ecological security evaluation in China. Three main questions arise: a) the spatial scale evaluation is not deep and wide, and the time scale evaluation most for static evaluation. b) Construction of index system has strong subjectivity, and what indicators are to be used to describe land ecological security. Most approaches aim at a single or limited number of indices for land ecological security, for data availability reasons. c) Innovation and the comparisons are lacked between the evaluation methods. Dynamic evaluation, objective evaluation indexes, integrated evaluation methods are however required.
